I just thought I’d let you guys know I’ve made my decision. Next year, I’ll be going to Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany. If you’re interested, the school website is here and there are some cool panoramas of Bremen here. And here is a video of free hugs made in Bremen:
I quite enjoy it. And I like the song.
Anyway, now that we’ve all seen the video, you’re wondering, what does this mean for the books and the blog? You must be interested in that, or else why would you be here?
And the answer is: I don’t really know.
Sometime in August, I’ll be heading to Europe. If authors/publishers are willing to send me books in Germany, I’ll still take review copies. If not, well, my parents will still be in the U.S. and I’ll be able to pick up books when I come home for Christmas/summer. I’m really not sure about access to English-language books or time to read them and I’ll work out all the details about review copies when the time comes.
This blog will still be alive. I’ll probably have less time for recreational reading, and the reviews might not be so frequent, and the blogging might not be so frequent, but I’ll be here. And I’ll be blogging about life and Germany and such elsewhere.
The bottom line: this blog will probably change, but I’ll still be here. And I’ll be going to Europe and I’m excited!

Mostly I laid in bed unable to think about anything else or do anything else. It was agonizing and pathetic :-) And I randomly sent panicked text messages to my friends (for example: I’M GOING TO DIE I CAN’T DECIDE HELP ME AHHHHHH). And made myself sick stressing out about it. And made pro-con lists in which the two schools came out even. And eventually I said, “I’d like to pick NYC but I CAN’T I have to pick Germany, let’s go to the post office now.” And, no, that doesn’t make any sense. I’m not a very good decision-maker.
But now it’s done, and I’m excited!

Germany’s a cool place. And I’m sure this blog will still be fantastic even if you don’t have as many frequent book reviews.

Yes! You can hang out with me! And I will share my books with you. I have a very good friend who lives in Bremen, so I’m actually there pretty often.
When I was in college, I was so busy studying that I never had time to read novels. Short stories were all I could ever make time for!

congrats!! and i think it’s grand, on your prev post i agreed with one commenter that had stated that you really want to go to nyc and so i didn’t put in the thought that you should chose to go to europe, cause well it’s your school, but now that you’ve decided on germany i can shout with joy that YEAH, it’s great and i think it would be a great, great experience and you would be able to see a whole lot other places too (just imagine rome, paris, spain -cause all of it is heaven, all of andalusia and definitely barcelona and breathtaking gaudi buildings, athens….oooh it would be heavenly, really) and you’d get to meet different people and learn a foreign language… it just would be great and i know you’d love it. HURRAH! HURRAH! :)
